FEATURES IN THE MAY-JUNE, 2008 BBJ NEWSLETTER An in-person interview with VAN ALEXANDER, best known for A-TISKIT, A-TASKIT, co-written with Ella Fitzgerald. We learn about his considerable musical contributions to major TV shows and background music for movies. He's accompanied such singing stars as Kay Starr, Gordon MacRae and Dean Martin. VAN ALEXANDER'S story in his own words.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR include an emotional story from a reader about listening to Armed Forces Radio while hiding in a makeshift bunker during WWII. Another readers tells of the use of Billy Butterfield's expressive trumpet in a current TV commercial.
